From January through September we host short-term mission teams who usually come for one to two weeks from churches and other YWAM bases. Teams pay a fee which covers their transportation, food and housing and also raise funds for work projects they will sponsor while in Bocachica. We take care of organizing all of the logistics including airport pick-ups, transportation to the island, meals, daily schedules, purchasing construction materials, coordinating work projects, and team activities.
Team members work hand-in-hand with our mission staff and the local community in an array of activities such as: latrine and floor projects, crafts with the elderly, games and activities with the children, helping at the feeding center, mission maintenance projects, clinic construction, sports events with the youth and evangelistic outreach. Each group’s itinerary is planned according to the gifts and abilities of it’s team members.
